ABOUT
Sophie Rivkin-Fish is a singer/songwriter, stage actress, and musical theatre performer. She has been singing since before she could speak, and performing since she was seven years old! Her voice is heavily inspired by Ella Fitzgerald, Amy Winehouse, Ariana Grande, and Sammy Rae- all of which are performers who use the voice as an instrument. Her songwriting style is both raw and unique, as she enjoys playing with vivid imagery and alternative rhyme structures. Her love of both jazz and musical theatre is evident in the style of music that she writes and sings; a gorgeous blend of the two.
During her sophomore year of high school, Sophie fell in love with a jazz musician that attended her school. Through his influence, she became fully immersed into that world- and she worked her voice to perfection. Although her feelings for the boy came and went, she understood for the first time in her life that music was a constant that she was unable to fall out of love with- and she decided from there that she had no other choice but to pursue it. After high school, Sophie attended the performing arts college called "Snohoj" in Fredericia, Denmark for a year. She is currently in school at the Catholic University of America, getting her BFA in Musical Theatre. Whether it be musical theatre, jazz, pop, or any other genre Sophie finds along the road, she hopes that her voice (both inner and outer) can touch the hearts of anyone who cares to listen.
